….Advises on transparent spendings, value added initiatives
The annual meeting of Akure sons and daughters code named “The gathering of the Tigers, 2025” was celebrated with intellectual discussions amidst pomp and ceremony on December, 26 in Akure.

The lecture was delivered by Adekunle Ajasin University don, Professor Ifedayo Afe, who harped on imperative of unity amongst Akure speaking communities.

“When we are united, it will be easier to help one another and fight for our right.” Prof. Afe emphasized.
The lecturer further illuminated how he had secured employment in Port Harcourt 25 years ago through the help of Dr Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu to buttress the advantage of having ancestral identity with those in positions of influence and authorities.

He also made mention of the interventions of Bashorun Adedipe Ifedayo, SAN, that have assisted many Akure indigenes in a great way.
“I will advise our youths to have second address apart from politics.
Because, political positions are temporary and staging comebacks are usually difficult if one encounters setbacks without having strong financial backbones.” Prof. Afe submitted.
Awards of Excellence were given to some notable personalities who have contributed immesuuarbly to the growth of Akure and have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and endeavours, including Bashorun Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN.

The event also featured fund raising session that was anchored by the APC Chieftain and Ondo Central Senatorial Hopeful, Dr Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu “Cubana”, highlighting the cardinal desire of the group to undertake projects that will aid community development and improve members’ welfare.
Dr Adu donated 5 Million Naira to assist the noble group in their drive to better the welfare of the members while contributing to societal enhancement.

Dr Adu who is respected for his philantrophy, however, advised the leadership of the group to imbibe transparency and accountability, increase their membership drive and initiate productive partnerships that can add values to their well being and to Akure development.

With his involvement in numerous community engagements in parri passu with his political activities, Dr Adu has recorded applause and commendations from people across different segments of our ever conscious society.
