Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has been described as a true respecter and supporter of the judiciary, acknowledging its central role in safeguarding democracy and justice in Ondo State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, OON, who warmly welcomed the judiciary back to work following their one-month annual vacation.
Speaking on Monday, Dr. Ajulo noted that the resumption of the courts marks a renewed chapter in the pursuit of justice, fairness, and the rule of law across the state. He praised the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Hon. Justice Olusegun Odusola, along with all judges, magistrates, and judicial officers, for their dedication and commitment to ensuring that justice remains accessible to the people.
Quoting the Governor’s appreciation, Dr. Ajulo said, “Governor Aiyedatiwa holds the judiciary in the highest esteem, particularly for the steadfastness, courage, and professionalism it demonstrated during the political cases that trailed his mandate. From the beginning to the final pronouncement, the judiciary proved once again to be the true guardian of democracy. The Governor is deeply grateful.”
He further remarked that Governor Aiyedatiwa sees the judiciary as an indispensable partner in governance, stressing that “the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man, and its vibrancy is indispensable to the survival of our democracy and the protection of the rights of citizens.”
The Attorney General assured that the Ministry of Justice, under the directive of the Governor, will continue to provide unwavering support to the judiciary in discharging its constitutional responsibilities without fear or favour. He expressed optimism that the new legal year will bring greater efficiency, innovation, and integrity in the dispensation of justice.
Dr. Ajulo also emphasised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to deeper collaboration among the executive, legislature, and judiciary, noting that such synergy is the key to achieving good governance, peace, and sustainable development in Ondo State.
